Hey y'all! I'm Shana, and I love to cook! I just wanted to start a line of communication for folks who thoroughly enjoy cooking and eating. Hence my new blog! We will discuss anything food: how you prepare your dishes, hints on cooking food, what makes good food taste good, etc. My goal is to share with you everyday meals that regular, middle-class folks can enjoy without breaking the pockets. I used to eat out all of the time, whether it was fine dining or a neighborhood joint. But when I discovered how easy and enjoyable it was to cook at home, I changed all that. I can be as creative or simple as I want to be, and I have really enjoyed it! Through this blog I will share recipes, pictures, and new ideas. My hope is that other bloggers will, too! So, when you make a great-tasting home-cooked meal, please share it with us! Thanks! -Shanabanana:)

Hey Shannon! Cool idea - I love to cook and I try to use fresh ingredients as much as possible. This morning, I took some leftover sauteed veggies (red bell pepper, mushrooms, onion and asparagus) and threw them in the pan with some eggs for a quick veggie scramble. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI've found that the most cost-effective way for me to have fresh produce is to skip the grocery store and go to the produce stand across town. Less convenient and not as huge of a selection as Publix, but they are locally grown and SO much less expensive.
My bad - I mean Shana of course... need more coffee...
ReplyDeleteI create my best meals when the cupboards are teetering on empty.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha!! Yesss!! Fresh veggies are key! And your veggie scramble sounds delish! I must try that! I appreciate your comments, and hope that you will contribute more whenever you like! Pictures are welcome, too!
ReplyDelete@Dianne, your ideas have always inspired me! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI ended up cooking today. your blog hs inspired me. instead of just fried plaintains, my lunch now consist of wild alaskan salmon patty, fried plaintains, white rice , fried onions, mustard greens(just picked) and biscuits(freezer). Most of this stuff I swore off last week when I decided to use a gluten free diet, but I can't just throw it away and how else would I keep up my queenly figure? oh, I forgot, I made gravy also. i asked Pili to take a pic of it so I cld send it 2 u, he refused saying he didn't have time to wait for me to stage it. I think he was jealous of my gravy. He thinks he's the gravy king.
